Carry on {with reading this, that is}

  • In love with God
  • smart
  • leader
  • funny
  • loves me
  • likes kids
  • great hair
  • good cook
  • is basically loving
  • manly
  • all around nice
  • respectful
  • sings along with the radio
  • big n' buff

See that? That's the majority of characteristics most Christian girls {...okay me} want in their future mate.
And, though you've all probably heard this before, if we want {to deserve} a husband who is like that, we've got to be working on those qualities {well, with the exception of a few...}in our own lives.
Want a husband who's completely and totally sold out to God?
             Be so, yourself.
Got it?

And, while I'm on the subject, just remember, ladies: You're single right now for a reason. So spend this time growing closer to God. Make Him your love.

 adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases. ~Song of Solomon 2:7

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. ~ 1 John 4:7-8

Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands. ~ Deuteronomy 7:9

For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. ~ Zephaniah 3:17 {*sigh* One of my favorites!}

  1. That list is what I look for too...although I haven't done much looking. Lovely picture and post!

  2. Guess we have similar taste ;) great post. We have to be woman who are future husbands deserve not just something they ended up getting stuck with.

    1. Thanks :) And, yeah... it's kind of like that verse in Proverbs:
      She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. ~Proverbs 31:12
      Meaning all the days of our life, not just the ones in which we're married. :)

  3. We have the same tastes in a guy. We have to be very careful with the man that we choose.

    1. Yup! And thankfully God has all ready picked one out for each of us {if it's His will, that is!}! When the time is right, we just need to rely on the Lord in that matter. :)

  4. Great post - just what I needed! Thanks, Trinka! <3 xxx

  5. For my 13th birthday I am getting a purity ring. Great post! I want to do a post on purity.

    1. Really? That's great that you're getting a purity ring! :)I've never had one, though I still have the "thought" behind it. :) And I can't wait to read your purity post!

    2. Thanks! I think I will try to work on my purity post :)

    3. I just posted my post on purity!

  6. I love that last one Trinka :) This was a lovely post. I have a Purity ring but I think it's verses like these that really form the rings around our hearts :) And yeah...I might add a few things to that list...I kinda need to make mine. I actually haven't yet! Sierra
    Keep Growing Beautiful♥ (Cause You Are!)

    1. Yes, so do I...<3 And thank you! I agree, though. We can have a purity ring and just go around telling people about it, but if there's no actual meaning behind it, or if we act as if it's just a ring and not a promise too, well...there's kind of no reason to be wearing it! {wow, can you say run-on sentence?!}
      Yeah, I have a few more too, that was just a basic list :)

  7. i totally agree. and you have the perfect list. one thing i want is a guy who will cook with me every now and then...that's just the picture perfect scene for me (:

    oh and you're so sweet to say you like my southern twang! thanks love (:
